Woman punches neighbour and storms into home in ‘bad blood’ parking row




A woman punched a neighbour she had “bad blood” with and stormed into her home in a row over parking.Christine Sharman, 69, from Llan Ffestiniog, Gwynedd, was enraged after Alun Jones parked outsider her home on 25 July 2025.
Sharman, a nurse, demanded the car be moved as she approached Mr Jones’ wife, Jane, who was at home.She forced her way into the house and “lunged” at Jane, punching her in the chest, a court heard.

Sharman was found guilty of assault and using violence to enter the house at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.The court heard how there was longstanding “bad blood” between the neighbours over the parking spot.Penybryn, in the centre of Llan Ffestiniog, only has space for a car to park on Sharman’s side of the street.She angrily strode up to her neighbour’s home, CCTV footage seen in court revealed.

The court heard how Sharman demanded the car be moved as Mr Jones answered the door.”What are you doing?” she loudly asked her neighbour who had parked his black Vauxhall in the spot.Mr Jones then shut the door after refusing to engage.But his wife answered the door after a second knock.

She said Sharman was “pushing against the door”.She added: “I was trying to shut it, but she was against it with her full weight so I couldn’t.”She came in with a lunge.”I got in the way and got a punch in the chest with a closed fist.”

She said she was in “shock” as she was punched.Sharman claimed she had intended to speak calmly and needed access to the spot to load her car.She said: “I have a long serving history as a registered nurse.”I’m caring and compassionate. If I’d punched anyone, I’d be sacked.”She was insistent she did not assault anyone as she fought back tears in court.Magistrates found Mrs Jones’ account of events credible, and convicted her of the two charges of assault and using violence to enter the house.She will be sentenced on 11 May.
