
Norwegian is set to launch a brand-new direct route connecting Glasgow Airport with Tromso in northern Norway this winter.The service kicks off on December 11, 2026 and runs through to March 22, 2027, operating twice weekly throughout the season.The airline has spotted a growing appetite for magical winter experiences, allowing those travelling from Scotland more routes to enjoy.Visitors can enjoy Northern Lights viewing and whale watching – the kind of bucket-list activities that have become increasingly popular. Departures from Glasgow are scheduled for 5.55pm on Mondays and 1.55pm on Fridays.Executive director of Glasgow Airport operator AGS Airports Group, Chris Tibbett, said: “We are delighted to welcome Norwegian’s new direct service between Glasgow and Tromso, further strengthening Scotland’s connectivity with Norway and opening up exciting new travel opportunities for our passengers.”Tromso has become one of Europe’s most sought-after winter destinations, renowned for its spectacular Arctic landscapes, Northern Lights experiences and unique outdoor adventures. “This new route will make it easier than ever for travellers from across Scotland to experience everything the region has to offer.”This is not the only new route Britons can expect soon, however. Wizz Air will launch year-round routes from the UK to three must-visit Spanish destinations.The low-cost carrier announced flights to Málaga, Granada, and Asturias (Oviedo) will take off in late October 2026, with tickets starting at just £17.99.The Málaga service kicks off on October 25, running four times a week, while Granada and Asturias flights begin two days later on October 27.The flights are already available to book | GETTY
