
Thomas Tuchel has challenged four of England’s attacking players to “show up” as the Three Lions prepare for the knockout stages of the World Cup.The England manager has seen Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford all find the net during the group stage, but admits he is still waiting for several other forwards to produce defining moments.England progressed as Group L winners after victories over Croatia and Panama, either side of a frustrating goalless draw with Ghana.While Tuchel’s side have remained unbeaten, they have often struggled to break down organised defences, particularly in wide areas.Kane and Bellingham eventually combined to settle Saturday’s 2-0 win over Panama, with the Bayern Munich striker taking his tally for the tournament to three goals and Bellingham scoring his second before providing the assist for England’s captain.Now Tuchel wants more of his attacking players to make the difference.Speaking after the victory on Saturday night, the German singled out Morgan Rogers, Anthony Gordon, Noni Madueke and Bukayo Saka as players capable of stepping up when England need them most.”On a certain level, we want these guys in a key moment to show up. Nico O’Reilly took an opponent out to create space for Jude in the first half.”We have to work in patterns to have a higher amount of attacking threat. If we all just play freestyle, no one knows what the other one is thinking.”Jude is a part of it.”We want to be consistently finding players in these spaces, and then they should take advantage with their quality.
