Catherine issues rallying cry to England squads ahead of World Cup clash: ‘Good luck!’

The Royal patronage of British sport remains central to Catherine’s public work. She took on the high-profile roles of patron for both the Rugby Football League (RFL) and the Rugby Football Union (RFU) in February 2022. The appointments came after the positions were vacated by Prince Harry following his decision to step back from duties as a working royal in 2020. Since taking over, the Princess has been an active champion for the sport, hosting receptions for squad members, attending major fixtures, and championing the growth of the women’s and disability formats.
