Best family holiday spots for Britons named – and Spain dominates the rankings

Location was another standout category, scoring 4.76, while service received 4.63.Its relaxed atmosphere and family-friendly beaches make Cambrils an alternative to some of Spain’s busier resorts, while its location on the Costa Dorada puts it within easy reach of attractions including PortAventura World.Majorca’s Santa Ponsa comes second, with an overall score of 4.51. Hotels in the resort performed particularly well for location, receiving 4.78, while the holiday experience scored 4.61.The resort sits around a sheltered bay and has a walkable seafront lined with restaurants and shops. Its proximity to Palma also makes it great for families wanting to combine a beach holiday with sightseeing. Hotels scored 4.56 for location, 4.53 for holiday experience and 4.51 for service.Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria follows closely behind in fourth, with a score of 4.40. Hotels in the resort achieved the highest food and drink score of the entire top 10, at 4.75. Fuengirola rounds off the top five with 4.34, with particularly strong scores for cleanliness (4.6) and location (4.46).Chief marketing and supply officer at loveholidays, Al Murray, said: “Families often have a shortlist of destinations they know and trust, but our ranking shows some of the strongest hotel experiences are happening in resort towns people might be less familiar with. “That’s why the customer reviews we’re now sharing on our hotel listings are so useful.
