Cyprus will become easier for Britons to get to as Cyprus Airways launches a new daily direct service between London Stansted and Larnaca. The flights will begin on April 23, 2027, with tickets already on sale and available to book until September 16, 2027.The new route will give Britons another way to reach the Mediterranean island, which is popular with visitors looking for sunny beaches, historic attractions and traditional Cypriot food.Cyprus enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with warm spring temperatures and long, hot summers. Its mild climate also makes it a great choice for winter sun. April is a particularly good time to visit as the countryside bursts into bloom and conditions are generally comfortable for sightseeing before the peak summer heat arrives.Larnaca, on the island’s south-eastern coast, offers a mix of seaside relaxation and cultural attractions. Visitors can stroll along the palm-lined Finikoudes promenade, relax on the beach or explore the Church of Saint Lazarus, a historic landmark in the city centre. Nature lovers can also visit Larnaca Salt Lake, which attracts flocks of pink flamingos during the winter months, while the surrounding region is home to traditional villages and archaeological sites.Holidaymakers can use this as a jumping-off point to explore the island further, from the beaches of Ayia Napa and Protaras to the ancient sites of Paphos and the pine-covered Troodos Mountains. The island’s varied landscape makes it an option for travellers looking for more than a traditional beach holiday, with opportunities for hiking, wine tasting and discovering local villages.
