
Wizz Air is set to launch six brand new routes from London Luton Airport next summer, stepping up its presence after TUI shifted all its operations over to London Gatwick.Holidaymakers will have more options for a summer getaway when booking with the budget carrier next year.Starting 12 June, the budget carrier – already the biggest operator at Luton – will be flying passengers to some popular destinations in Spain, Portugal and more. New routes include Yerevan in Armenia, plus Alicante in Spain, Lyon in France, Corfu in Greece, Faro in Portugal and Turin in Italy.Sunseekers can look forward to more flights to Alicante | GETTY It’s a notable move that comes as TUI confirmed it was relocating to Gatwick “to strengthen core operations”.The airline is also basing an extra aircraft at the airport, bringing its fleet there up to 15 planes in total. Wizz Air said this decision would bolster the town’s “economic growth strategy, helping to deliver long-term, sustainable growth for the airport and region”.Beyond Luton, Wizz Air is also growing its presence at London Gatwick with a new daily service to Valencia kicking off on March 29, 2026 – just in time for the summer season.Return fares will start from just £40, making it a proper bargain for sun-seekers.More flights will go from Luton Airport to Corfu, Greece | GETTY
