Ryanair has today announced its Summer 2025 schedule for East Midlands and Scotland, offering travellers a wide range of destinations for next year’s holidays.The budget airline will operate 33 routes from East Midlands and 87 routes from Scotland, including three new destinations.Scottish travellers will benefit from new routes to Krakow, Madeira and Malta. The announcement comes as part of Ryanair’s continued expansion in the UK market despite concerns over increased Air Passenger Duty.The East Midlands schedule features extra frequencies on 12 popular summer holiday routes, including Alicante, Faro, and Malaga.Flights will soon go to Malta GETTY/PAThe airline’s operations at East Midlands are supported by six based aircraft, representing a local investment of $600million (around £465million). Destinations from East Midlands include city breaks to Barcelona, Berlin, Budapest, Dublin, Milan, and Rome.Holiday hotspots such as Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Malta, Menorca, Rhodes and Tenerife are also available. Scotland’s schedule is underpinned by 13 Ryanair aircraft based in the country, representing a local investment of $1.3billion (around £1billion).The airline has added extra frequencies on 40 popular summer holiday routes, including Alicante, Lanzarote, and Malaga.This expansion provides Scottish customers with more choice at the lowest fares in Europe. However, Ryanair has criticised the Labour government’s decision to increase Air Passenger Duty by £2 per passenger from 2026.The airline claims this tax hike makes the UK uncompetitive compared to European countries like Sweden, Hungary, and Italy, which are abolishing aviation taxes.
