
Police are appealing for the public’s help to track down a missing man who may be in the Galloway Forest Park area.Stephen Neil, 60, was last seen at about 7pm on Saturday in the Dumfries and Galloway village Ae.

Investigating officers believe he is driving his campervan, which has the registration L643 SES, and is matt black with green wheels and trim.Inspector Lloyd Caven said: “We believe Mr Neil may have travelled in his campervan to the Galloway Forest area.”

He added: “That is obviously a huge area to search, so to assist local officers we have enlisted the help of local mountain rescue colleagues and the force’s helicopter.

Mr Neil is described as white, 5ft 9in tall, has blue eyes, and is balding with very short grey/white hair.It is not known what he is wearing.
Inspector Caven added: “Officers are checking CCTV, doing door-to-door enquiries, and have been liaising with various local agencies with regard to looking out for him.”Galloway Forest covers almost 775 square kilometres.
