Mike Tyson reveals injury, talks retirement and says he’s ‘happy’ after Jake Paul defeat




Mike Tyson has admitted he was injured during his fight with Jake Paul in Texas – but has insisted he won’t be using it as an excuse.The heavyweight icon was taking part in his first professional fight since his defeat to Kevin McBride back in 2005.But Tyson was unable to really trouble Paul, with the 27-year-old dominating proceedings as he secured victory via unanimous decision.Speaking after his defeat, the 58-year-old was asked about the brace over his knee.Mike Tyson has admitted he was injured during his fight with Jake Paul in Texas – but has insisted he won’t be using it as an excuseNETFLIXAnd Tyson confirmed that he was injured, with the boxing star telling Netflix: “Yeah [I had a knee injury], but I can’t use that for an excuse.”Defeat has never been something the veteran likes to experience. He also insists, however, that he’s ‘happy’ with how he did.”I am happy,” he continued.”I knew he was a good fighter. I am just happy with what I can do.”While Paul is likely to secure more lucrative fights in the future, it’s unclear what Tyson will do.When quizzed on retirement, Iron Mike kept his cards close to his chest. He did, however, suggest that he’d be open to fighting Paul’s brother, Logan, at some point in the future.”I don’t know, it depends on the situation.
