
Two people have been arrested after trying to get into Faslane naval base, Police Scotland has said.The force said it was made aware of two people attempting to enter the base, where the UK’s nuclear submarines are based, at around 5pm on Thursday.
A spokesperson said: “A 34-year-old man and 31-year-old woman have been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing.”

A Navy spokesperson added: “Police Scotland have arrested two people who unsuccessfully attempted to enter HM Naval Base Clyde”.”As the matter is subject to an ongoing investigation, we will not comment further”, it said.
