Keir Starmer could be on track to lose his seat alongside two key ministers as exiled former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn’s new left party establishes itself in the UK.A senior Labour source has told the New Statesman that it is “not inconceivable” that Starmer, Health Secretary Wes Streeting and Lord High Chancellor Shabana Mahmood “could all lose their seats”.It comes as more than 500,000 people have signed up to the party, which has yet to be named. Each of the Labour MPs came under pressure at the last general election from candidates focused on the Gaza conflict, however, the ministers have another four years to determine the damage Corbyn’s party has had on their chances.Corbyn wrote in The Guardian on Tuesday that the “political system is broken”.”Over the past 40 years in parliament, I have witnessed first-hand the reasons why. Politics should be about empowerment. Instead, people are shut out of the decisions that affect their daily lives,” the ex-Labour leader said.”For too long, people have been denied a real political choice.”Corbyn declared: “Not any more.”He added that after announcing “yourparty.uk” more than 500,000 people had signed up “to help build a real alternative to poverty, inequality and war”.Corbyn wrote that people were looking to end “this Government’s complicity in genocide and brings about justice for the Palestinian people”.FOLLOW BELOW FOR LIVE UPDATES THROUGHOUT THE DAY…
