Ed Miliband handed scathing message from US economist on GB News

Ed Miliband has been handed a scathing message from a top US economist on GB News while Britons continue to be hit hard with rising energy costs.Earlier today, Rachel Reeves laid out key measures to protect Britons from soaring energy bills in the face of the spiralling Iran war, driving up both oil and gas prices. The announcement followed a Cobra meeting to discuss the UK’s fuel crisis – and its subsequent impact on prices and overall bills for the average Briton. But the Tories have hit out at Labour after Mr Miliband said drilling in the North Sea would not have an impact on prices – with Shadow Energy Secretary Claire Coutinho calling his claim “flat out wrong”. Instead, on GB News this morning, she argued domestic oil and gas extraction could generate £25billion in tax revenues currently being raised from ordinary citizens instead. As a result, when asked how economist Diana Furchtgott-Roth would describe Mr Miliband’s energy policy, she delivered an extraordinary takedown of the senior minister. She started: “If I were in the room with him, I’d say think about all these people that want lower prices and also want jobs getting the oil out of the sea, getting the natural gas out of the ground. “Think about the people who elected you. Think about what would be good for them and act in their interests, not in the interests of the Chinese. That’s what I’d say.”WATCH THE CLIP ABOVE FOR MORE
