
A medical emergency in the stands brought the men’s doubles semi-final at Wimbledon to a standstill on Thursday afternoon. Wimbledon semi-final was brought to a halt due to a medical emergency | GETTY”A fellow spectator requires medical assistance at the top.”Both pairs of competitors waited at the net whilst staff attended to the individual.The umpire gave clearance for the match to continue in fewer than ten minutes, allowing the contest to proceed without significant disruption.The brief interruption failed to unsettle Arevalo and Pavic, who pressed on to secure their passage to the final with a straight-sets triumph.A tiebreak proved decisive in the opening set, while the second reached 2-2 before the sixth seeds found another gear.From that point, the Salvadoran-Croatian partnership rattled off four games in succession to clinch victory and end the hopes of Krawietz and Puetz.Arevalo and Pavic must now wait to discover who they will face in the final. The second semi-final, pitting Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara against Aleksandar Kovacevic and Thanasi Kokkinakis, was due to get underway at 3pm.The men’s singles semi-finals are set for Friday, with Arthur Fery meeting Alexander Zverev at 1pm.
