Ben Leo has revealed details of Donald Trump’s lavish new Air Force One after being given an exclusive tour of the aircraft while travelling with the White House press pool.The GB News Chief Political Correspondent accompanied the President to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on Thursday.While there, journalists were unexpectedly granted a first look inside the aircraft, which had previously been owned by the Qatari royal family before being donated to the US government.Ben described the aircraft as “perhaps the most impressive plane I’ve ever seen”.”We were told by the White House press team that we were going to have the first-ever exclusive look at this brand new plane for President Trump.”The jet is serving as an interim presidential jet while two new Boeing aircraft being built for the US government remain delayed until around 2029.To make it fit for service, the aircraft underwent a substantial refit, reportedly costing hundreds of millions of dollars.It now sports a dark navy-blue exterior chosen by Mr Trump in place of the iconic light-blue design selected by former First Lady Jackie Kennedy.Donald Trump showed off the new Air Force One on Friday | GETTYInside, Ben described the luxury as unlike anything he had seen before.”There are touches of class everywhere – beautiful mahogany-style wood, amazing plush sofas and seats, TVs everywhere,” he said.Describing the President’s office, Ben added: “There’s a sort of media wall with a TV in the middle, surrounded by lots of books. You’ve got great sofas, and in the middle was an oval desk with about six to eight seats.”The GB News presenter was particularly impressed by the aircraft’s press section.Ben Leo was given a sneak peek of the impressive new aircraft | GB NEWS”This supersedes any first-class cabin that I’ve ever seen on an aeroplane,” he said.”There are about 27 seats in the press area.
